This is what we call creative: Two german media design students, Oliver and Mischa, decided to create a sneaker brand as the work for their degrees and all that has to be done in just three month. They have one month left and a name already exists: “flaek footwear”. They also have a logo and as you can see, the first hand made sneaker prototype with the name “kaalen hi” is already made. The names “flaek” and “kaalen” were deduced from a german dialect from the north of Germany. From the beginning they documented their project on twitter and on their blog. In ihrer Abschlussarbeit haben sich die beiden Mediendesign-Studenten und Sneaker-Liebhaber Oliver und Mischa viel vorgenommen: eine eigene Sneaker-Marke in drei Monaten. Einen knappen Monat haben sie noch Zeit und es gibt bereits einen Namen (flaek footwear), Logo sowie die ersten Bilder ihres handgefertigten Sneaker-Protoyps mit dem Namen “kaalen hi”. Die Namen “flaek” und “kaalen” haben die beiden aus dem Plattdeutschen abgeleitet – ein echter Nordlicht-Sneaker also.
