As we already reported a few days before, the next Solebox “Solemart” takes place in Berlin at the “Hafenbar” on April 4th. In addition to this Sneaker-Superlative-Event, there will be a Karaoke Contest and William Moustache Junior himself will perform for New Balance. You now have the possibility to recommend some songs, William should sing for New Balance.

All you have to do is to visit his Moustache Club Site and post the URL of your song from Youtube into the comment-area. With a little bit of luck your song will be performed at the solemart.

By the way… You should be there, too, because William will have some nice presents to give away!!!

As you probably know New Balance produces their shoes in England. We are very proud to tell that story to our customers and consumers. Of course we like the idea of supporting the domestic manufacturing. Last week, when we were in Berlin for the Bread and Butter Tradeshow, we have met Joko Winterscheidt from M^TV Germany, and he told us a pretty impressive story about his own fashion label -- GERMAN GARMENT.  Joko and his friends also produce their collection in Europe, they are even “Made in Germany” ! Of course we like the idea of supporting national production facilities. As GERMAN GARMENT shows us, it´s not necessarily to chose Far East Production to offer good quality products to a good price point.

Berlin, 18.01.2010. Das sympathische Quartett von GERMAN GARMENT zeigt erstmalig ihre zweite Kollektion „1:13“ auf der internationalen Streetwear Messe Bread & Butter in Berlin. Der Kollektionstitel „1:13“ symbolisiert die Einzigartigkeit jedes T-Shirts. Die 13 Teile erzählen, jedes für sich, eine ganz eigene Geschichte und zeichnen sich durch ihre hochwertigen, aus Ökofarben produzierten Drucke aus.

Die Shirts der zweiten Kollektion gehen weg vom Plakativen, hin zu abstrakten Formfindungen und einer urbanen Bildsprache. Verzerrte Zeichnungen und Fotografien sowie graphische Kompositionen bestimmen das neue Bild. Die Entwürfe von „1:13“ finden ihren Ursprung in den weiten Reisen, den Underground-Partys und vor allem in den

kreativen Treffen der vier Designer. So spiegeln zum Beispiel verschwommene Designs die Schnelllebigkeit von Kultur, Musik und Menschen der Hauptstadt wider. Tatkräftig unterstützt werden sie im Designprozess durch die Berliner Brand Agentur Groupe Dejour. GERMAN GARMENT sind Freunde. Vier Jungs, die in vielerlei Hinsicht keine Unbekannten sind. Matthias Schweighöfer als Schauspieler, Joko Winterscheidt als TV-Moderator, Sebastian Radlmeier als DJ Sebrok und Kilian Kerner als Modedesigner. Alle vier sind beruflich sehr erfolgreich und empfinden ihre Arbeit als Wohlfühlzeit, warum sie also nicht mit guten Freunden verbringen?! Aus diesem Ansatz entstand vor eineinhalb Jahren das gemeinsame Design-Projekt GERMAN GARMENT.

Die Philosophie ist eindeutig: GERMAN GARMENT ist ein junges, stylisches T-Shirt Label, das dem allgemeinen Trend der Produktionsverlagerung nach Fernost und in die Schwellenländer Osteuropas entgegenwirkt, indem es ausschließlich in Deutschland produzieren lässt. Angefangen beim Design, über die Fabrikation, den Druck und die

Stickereien bis zum Etikett und der Herstellung der Hangtags ist alles „Made in Germany“. GERMAN GARMENT beweist, dass Mode wieder aus Deutschland kommen kann, ohne dass dafür Wucherpreise bezahlt werden müssen. Die Teile bewegen sich in der Preisgestaltung von 39,90 bis 69,90 Euro durchaus im Rahmen und werden günstiger angeboten, als manche in Fernost unter fragwürdigen Umständen produzierten Markenartikel. Und das Konzept geht auf. Das Freundschaftsprojekt steht seit seinem Start im August 2009 für Qualität und Exklusivität. Erfahrungen der vier aus Film, TV, Musik und Mode treffen aufeinander und ergeben nicht nur im Design, sondern auch in den Bereichen Marketing und Produktion nützliche Synergien. BOSTON (October 17, 2008) -New Balance continues its commitment to evolving the company’s Lifestyle category this fall by announcing two Creative Directors and the hiring of renowned branding and advertising agency, Mother New York to work on its Lifestyle business.

New Balance has named Savania Davies-Keiller and Roberto Crivello, founders and designers of the high-tech fashion brand DDCLAB, as Creative Directors for New Balance.  In their new role, Davies-Keiller and Crivello will set the creative direction for the sneaker brand’s lifestyle category through their vision and innovative design approach.

In ihrer neuen Rolle werden Davies-Keiller und Crivello durch ihre Visionen und innovativen design Ansätze die kreative Richtung für die Lifestyle Rubrik der Sneaker Brand festlegen.

The move to work with New Balance is a logical one for both Davies-Keiller and Crivello, who designed a well-received capsule collection for the brand for fall ‘08.  In their new role, the two will deliver global products that seamlessly combine expert design and innovation.  Their high-performance designs use breakthrough fabric technologies and inventive materials to create pieces that compliment a 21^st century lifestyle.

Der Entschluss mit New Balance zu arbeiten war für beide, die eine capsule-Kollektion für die Marke für den Herbst 08 designed haben, die sehr gut angenommen wurde, eine logische Schlußfolgerung. In ihrer neuen Rolle werden die beiden globale Produkte liefern, die fachmännisches Design und Innovation nahtlos miteinander verknüpfen. Ihre high-performance Designs nutzen bahnbrechenden Produktionstechniken und originellen Materialien um Stücke zu produzieren, die  einen Lifestyle des 21. Jahrhunderts komplimentieren.

“Our main goal with New Balance Lifestyle is to deliver shoes that can be worn to support an active lifestyle with a focus on design material and color.  For example,” says Davies-Keiller, “fall ‘08 includes fabrics such as aluminum coated rip-stop and steel infused nylons, soft gloved leathers and unique meshes.”

The full range of New Balance Lifestyle shoes under Davies-Keiller/Crivello’s direction will launch for spring 2009, however, select footwear designed by the duo will be available this fall at DDCLAB’s newly built store located in the Soho district of New York City.  Retail prices will start at $100 and will be available at additional top retail locations including DDCLAB, Collette Paris, Barney’s, Isetan and Fred Segal among others.

Further augmenting the brand’s commitment to the Lifestyle category, renowned global agency, Mother, has been signed on as New Balance’s global agency of record to support the Lifestyle category of the business.

Zur weitere Vergrößerung der Markenbindung zur Lifestyle Kategorie wurde die berühmte globale Agentur „Mother” als New Balance offizielle globale Agentur verpflichtet, um die Lifestyle Sektion des Business zu unterstützen.
